Ulas Yurtoglu is known for his performances on international stages as a soloist and chamber musician. He started his oboe studies at Hacettepe State Conservatory under the tutelage of Sakir YOLAC, graduating in 1999.
In 2002, he was accepted into the oboe class of Professor Ricordo RODRIGUES at Berlin Hanns Eisler Musical Academy, where he refined his skills and expanded his musical expertise.
During his time in Berlin, Ulas had the privilege of receiving chamber music lessons from renowned professors Klaus THUNEMANN and Professor Benoit FROMANGER, as well as orchestral music lessons from Professor Dominik WOLLENWEBER and Professor Kleinfeld.
Ulas has performed as a soloist and guest artist in prestigious orchestras across Germany, Italy, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, China, Russia, and beyond, under the baton of renowned conductors such as Daniel BARENBOIM, Simon RATTLE, Seiji OZAWA, and more. He has been involved in the Gala Concert of Siena Opera Festival and Rigoletto Opera by Verdi, and has performed notable oboe concertos such as Marcello’s Albinoni’s and Cimarosa’s Oboe concertos, Copland’s Korangle and Quiet City for Trumpet and Oboe D’amore concert of J.S.BACH between 2016-2019.
Ulas has been recognized as the first performer of Bohuslav Martinu's Oboe Concert in Turkey, with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. He is also known for his performances of J.S.BACH's Oboe Concert under the baton of Ildiko MOOG with Samsun Opera Orchestra, and Oboe D’amore Concert with the Festival Orchestra during Klasik Keyifler Cappadocia Music Festival in 2017.
Apart from his works as a soloist, Ulas has also established and led the Camerata Ankara Chamber Musical Group, and has performed numerous concerts with them. Ulaş continues to pursue his passion for chamber music as a member of Opus 45 Ensemble, a distinguished chamber musical group comprised of top-ranked musicians from German orchestras. In 2022, he was invited to perform two concerts with Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.
He has been the principal Oboe Player at Ankara State Opera and Ballet since 2006, and he also serves as a respected oboe professor at Ankara Music and Fine Arts.
